Unveiling a Unusual Steam Demo: Guiding a Poop in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have discovered a variety of engaging indie games. But, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel jumping adventure features a character that is actually a turd trying to navigate to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is simple: you only need a single jump button. Throughout one hundred fifty levels, you'll face tough enemies and unlock a shop to buy customizations for your dung hero.

Execute your jumps carefully, as a error requires restarting the level. Bounce off floating orbs to propel yourself to new heights, navigate crumbling surfaces, and touch triggers to reveal hidden paths. Collect coins to purchase more difficult levels as the action intensifies.

Graphically, the game shows off eye-catching environments and an amazing background music. The simple graphics featuring shifting geometric shapes could recall gamers of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's hard to think of similar titles where you are a dung character, video games frequently incorporated toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, players create throwables from protagonist waste. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize dung as soil enrichment. Naturally, this theme shows up extensively in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its silly idea, Unko Technica has already garnered notable accolades, including taking top honors at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. The demo is ready now on Steam, with the complete version planned to arrive on Steam in the fall.
