The England manager Criticizes Wembley Fan Atmosphere Following Emphatic Wales Victory.

Thomas Tuchel voiced his regret that the England team did not enjoy more backing from the Wembley spectators during their impressive friendly win against Wales on Thursday night.

Tuchel was pleased to see his team continue their good form, with finishes from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the initial stages settling the contest. Yet, he was not content with the mood at the iconic venue.

“With one and a half training days to get ready against a drilled team and we performed excellently,” the coach stated. “It could have been five goals ahead at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth ones. It was quiet. There was no support back from the crowd. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you give in the first quarter? We prevented them escape. If you hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the team earned better encouragement today.”

“I stand by my words. There’s nothing more than leading three goals up in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a greater backing in moments where it becomes tough.”

“In the second half, to support us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It could have helped us to refocus, but that’s football and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Justified by Performance

Apart from risking a dispute among supporters, Tuchel also created controversy by excluding Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. However the move was justified by Morgan Rogers delivering another standout performance in the No 10 position and scoring his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel noted. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is fighting for his position.”

Bellamy Seeks Improvement from Defeat

The Wales manager expressed hope that Wales, who host a strong Belgian side in a key World Cup qualifier on next week, learn from their awful performance in the opening period.

“This is why I wanted this friendly,” Bellamy said. “I wanted to assess where we are. What are our ambitions? Who do we want to be? Today fills me with drive.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Ollie Watkins was taken off at the break after clattering into a post and is a concern when England play Latvia in the Latvian capital in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
