Skydance Paramount Set to Eliminate Around 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Skydance Paramount plans to begin significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 positions in the United States as part of a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are expected, as the firm planning to disclose complete information in its Q3 financial results set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates had indicated that Paramount was looking to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.

Until December 2024, the organization retained nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

The company did not immediately respond regarding the report.
