Bondi Discloses Inquiry into Trump Opponents and Epstein Ties

This past Friday, the Attorney General assigned Jay Clayton to head an inquiry into opponents of Donald Trump and their links with Jeffrey Epstein. This move came shortly after Trump ordered her to launch the probe.

In a statement, the Attorney General praised Jay Clayton as “a highly skilled and reliable legal expert”. She added, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”

This development seems to diverge from a recent memorandum from federal authorities which declared that the Epstein files lacked grounds for further inquiries. As per the memo, authorities “lacked sufficient evidence to pursue cases against other parties.”

Trump Calls for Focus on Political Opponents in Epstein Case

This news coincides with increasing demands from Trump on lawmakers to resist the full release of Epstein-related documents before an upcoming House vote in the coming days. Many Republicans are expected to back the release.

Recently released communications from Jeffrey Epstein have brought attention to the president’s previous connections with the sex trafficker, including details that he was more aware of Epstein’s actions than earlier acknowledged.

That same day, the President declared he would ask the Department of Justice to investigate Epstein’s ties with Democrats, specifically naming prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also described the “Epstein situation” as a “scam”.
